North American Martyrs

In the Catholic calendar, today is the feast of the North American Martyrs, St. Isaac Jogues and his companions, who were martyred by the Iroquois in the 17th century. I explored the sites of their ministry and martyrdom a number of times in the mid-1990s when I lived in the northeast, and wrote about a 2002 return trip here. Three years later, I went again, and took these photos.
