Our final church service at North Fort Hood Chapel is complete. My assistant, SSG Benjamin Swisher, did a great job pulling a band together, and now we can hand that over to a core group of folks from the 48th CSH who wowed us today. Afterwards, a dozen more volunteers gathered around CPT Brown, who was on the keyboard. Even one of their senior leaders, a LTC, showed us after church what he could do on the drums.
The CSH chaplain was one of my fellow students at the Combat Medical Ministry Course a few weeks ago. They will be heading out in a few weeks to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. One of my subordinate chaplains will be here another week. Another of the chaplains I’ll be supervising will be arriving next weekend. The chapel experiences a constant flow of chaplains coming in for training and heading out to Kuwait or Afghanistan–but the ministry continues.
