One thought on “Talking of Death and Resurrection

  1. While I appreciate the mission of the Boniuk Center, it’s articles like these that irritate me about tolerance/diversity groups. These kinds of articles always seem to have a patronizing bent. “Children already have experience with death, even at an early age.” Why, yes, yes they do. Because that’s life. “Just don’t forget the story’s ending.” Why would Christians ever forget the ending? Isn’t that what we’re preaching here in the first place?

The real problem with American churches today isn’t that we talk about the Death and Resurrection too much. It’s that we don’t talk about these things enough. Give me Santa Semana in Seville and Day of the Dead in Mexico rather than the lukewarm mush that passes for American spirituality.
