Why Men Hate Going to Church

Jesus was a working man who went down to the docks and into the market place to call men to follow him.

Why is it, then, that men are so hard to find in many churches? Why are we outnumbered by women?

David Murrow will address this problem, and what we can do about it, in “Why Men Hate Going to Church,” February 8, 2009, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Houston International Seventh-day Adventist Church, 13885 Beechnut Street, Houston, TX 77083 (between Eldridge and Hwy 6 in Mission Bend).

Murrow, a Presbyterian layman, is a film producer and author of Why Men Hate Going to Church (Thomas Nelson, 2004). His webpage is Church for Men.

No admission. A freewill offering will be taken. Books and DVDs by the author will be available.

  1. …and yet, Orthodox Judaism has no “man” problem. Are there pointers we could learn from Orthodox Jewish practice.

    • Murrow points that out in his book–true of both Judaism and Islam (and, Lee Podles points out, Eastern Orthodoxy as well).
