The FLDS and the Law

Well, after all the hoopla of a big raid, it seems the case is falling apart. The children and many others are still in custody, but the allegations that started it all are unraveling. First they had a hard time finding the girl who supposedly complained. Then they started looking for someone else who may have been involved in making those phone calls. Now, Rosita Swinton has been arrested for making a false claim. Other rumors and suppositions are falling apart, too, like the salacious suggestion that a bed in the temple was used for sex. Nope. But the judge is keeping the kids in custody nonetheless.

Update: In today’s news

“In her little baby voice, she said, ‘If you rescue me, and I get out of here, do you think the black people will hurt me?’ ” Walker said. “She had done her homework. She knew it was a racist cult. We know that these kids are very frightened of black people.

“The Texas Rangers told us she was obsessed with the FLDS. They confiscated tons of material on the FLDS (in the search of Swinton’s home). She even gave real addresses and real names of FLDS people.”

Update: Phone calls which triggered FLDS raid were made from Swinton’s phone. The whole thing was set in motion by a notorious hoaxer.
