Geography Lesson Needed

The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston says,

There has never been a cardinal appointed from a diocese south of the Mason-Dixon Line. Other than the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, this counrty’s cardinals have all been from archdiocese/dioceses in the northeast (e.g. New York, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Boston, etc.) or the Midwest (e.g. Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, etc.).

In fact, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Washington, DC, and St. Louis are all south of the Mason-Dixon Line.

  1. Yep, Bill I saw the same posting and thought the same thing. Also, they can’t seem to get it right that the correct placement for the title “Cardinal” is right before the surname. When I see Cardinal Daniel DiNardo it drives me mad (even some at the Vatican seem to get this protocol correct.) Oh well, I hope they get some pics of Cardinal DiNardo in his scarlet on the website soon
