President Bush Names Iranian Minister to be US Ambassador to Iran

A silly headline, no? That would never happen. But George Bush has named the president of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences to be US Ambassador to the Vatican; this same individual was also head of the Vatican delegation to the U.N. Conference on Women in Beijing. Mary Ann Glendon does have impressive academic credentials, but her experience would suggest that she seems better suited to be the Vatican representative to the US than the US representative to the Vatican.
