Girl told her senior photo can’t be in the yearbook — because she’s holding a flower. They made a blanket policy against “props” to keep one kid from being pictured attired for trap shooting.
We had a rifle range and a rifle team at one of the high schools I attended–rifle instruction was part of ROTC (probably still is). I guess they wouldn’t allow that, either.
My son’s high school requires that year book pictures be uniform, with gown (but no cap).
The high school from which I graduated had two sections for senior pictures–one was your formal pose, the other was “Senior in Action” photos (in mine, I was painting a watercolor picture of a turkey, as the art teacher sat in front of me posing for her portrait).
