Dan Brown

Dan Brown cleared of copyright infringement. Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh have lost their appeal, and owe big bucks in court costs. It seems silly to deny that Brown got his ideas from them; indeed, he named one of his main characters, Leigh Teabing, after them (Teabing is an anagram of Baigent). But taking wacky ideas, and giving tribute in this way, didn’t rise to the level of copyright infringement, said the courts.
