Yes, those racist comments are obviously atrocious. They represent the worst of human impulses and should be soundly repudiated. I’m also grateful that the author questions the “human shield” argument and makes a compelling (though brief) case that escalating violence can not possible help anyone.

Those comments are nothing compared to the antisemitic crap that is constantly dished out by the Arab media, as documented by the ADL webpage.
But let’s be practical. What is your solution to what a nation is to do when terrorists are lobbing missiles at it? Or to what police are supposed to do when criminals are shooting at innocents?
