How frustrating! We’re adopting through Catholic Charities, in TX, and we’ve had a good experience so far. One thing the article doesn’t make quite clear: the executive director mentioned in the article is the Bay Area director, not the national director. It should be more clear that not all Catholic Charities operate this way. The Catholic Charities office that we’re with will only adopt to singles or to married couples. No cohabitating or same-sex couples are allowed to adopt through them.
