Traditional Anglicans Seek Union with Rome

The bishops of the Traditional Anglican Communion (claiming 500,000 members) are seeking reunion with Rome.

  • That would be a very modernist (cf. “state of nature/social contract” theory), American (cf. “originalist” understandings of the Constitution), Protestant (cf. sola scriptura doctrine) thing to do. “Back to the beginning” is our creed (and a pretty good one in many cases).

    And if you’re not going back to the Church as described in Acts (which the Emergent Movement wants, in part) then the Catholic Church does seem to be the oldest.
